Important information for Applicants

  • The Increasing Access Fund is primarily aimed at new grantees, however, if previous or current grantholders have a project that fits the criteria, please contact our grant manager Michelle Wright (CEO, Cause4) for a conversation ahead of submitting an application.
  • We expect the Fund to be highly competitive and reserve the right to close the Fund before the formal deadline – we advise applicants to submit their applications as soon as they are ready.
  • Given the limited resources of the Foundation we are unable to discuss applications before submission, although we will answer any questions or queries relating to the application process by emailing by 6th November 2020.
  • The Funds are open to charities, CICs and registered social and healthcare providers – we will not fund organisations outside of these groups.
  • We will only fund organisations within the turnover thresholds outlined and will prioritise applications from organisations which have been disproportionately affected by the Covid-19 situation. Those organisations with a substantial financial reserve are not precluded from applying, although you will need to make a significant case as to why the project you are seeking funding for cannot be funded through this reserve. We will not penalise prudent and financially well-run organisations.
  • Whilst we recognise the need for investment in IT hardware or infrastructure, we will only fund these elements to increase access for beneficiaries to services or activities – we will not fund general IT or hardware for organisations.
  • We place the safeguarding and safety of beneficiaries at the forefront of our work and any projects must adhere to existing statutory guidelines in this area.
  • Applications must be submitted through the online forms and portal – we will not be able to accept any supplementary information, other than that requested through this form. If you have issues in submitting your application please email
  • Applications must align with the key domains of the Foundation, as well as its aims and objectives (outlined above). We are unable to accept applications from organisations/projects outside of these areas.
  • While we have outlined word limits within the online forms, we ask that applicants write clearly and concisely. You will not be penalised for not using the entire word counts available.
