A grant of £184,750 to Hospice UK with advisory support from Dr David Stables to enable a feasibility study and the development of a proof of concept for ‘Hospice Data: Making the case for hospice care’. The programme will capture the true reach and scale of hospice care, both in hospices and in home-based community care, developing the first UK wide evidence base for hospice care. This is aimed at enabling Hospice UK, hospices and local and national commissioners to drive better outcomes for more people at the end of life, as well as their families and carers.
